Pepe Ron, alma mater of the Bar Blanco in Cangas together with his brother Quique, proposes a cuisine with a clear regional profile, based on the strong raw materials of the area. He took over the kitchen from his mother, Engracia Linde, one of the great Asturian chefs. He is a chef with a great capacity for creativity, which has led him to win the Asturias Pinchos competition and come second in the national competition. In this line, he prepares dishes in which he plays with local products to innovate without going overboard. Located in Calle Mayor, in the centre of Cangas, Bar Blanco, a gastronomic symbol of Asturias, has been open for more than half a century without changing its appearance. It has the same modest façade of a village bar, the same long bar at the entrance with a few small tables on one side, and the same small dining room as all the bars in this part of Asturias. It also has an excellent wine cellar with local wines and a cocktail bar.
