Chef at Qué Leche (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain)

Jenisse Ferrari

Jenisse Ferrari is Venezuelan with Italian parents. She has a degree in cookery from Argentina, a master's degree from the Basque Culinary Centre in San Sebastián and a law degree from Caracas, Venezuela, and admits that the main influence on her career has been travelling and learning from great chefs. This travel influence is reflected in her cuisine, which combines Canary Island produce with Asian, Latin and Mediterranean influences.

At the Basque Culinary Centre she met another chef, Mario Ureña, with whom she undertook to create a restaurant. Jenisse's initial idea was to open a dairy in Mexico, but in 2014, without giving up the name she had in mind, she opened the restaurant Qué leche in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with her partner Mario Ureña (who has since left the project).

The project quickly attracted attention and in 2018 they were even nominated for the Premio Cocinero Revelación de 2018.
